Alaska
Alaska starts with mild, calming effects followed closely by motivating energy. It contains moderate amounts of THC (between 16% and 22%) and less than 1% CBD. The cool, refreshing sativa strain can provide relief from issues like headaches, nausea, and pain. In addition to giving you a pleasant increase in energy, it can also help uplift your mood.
Avidekel
Regarded as the world’s most researched strain, Avidekel is a non-intoxicating hybrid that features up to 18% CBD and less than 1% THC. The most common uses for this strain include treating inflammation, anxiety, and epilepsy. It can also be beneficial for treating symptoms of Autism Spectrum Disorder.
Eran Almog
Eran Almog (EA), an indica strain, is known as Tikun Olam’s most sedating strain. Frequently used to help with pain and insomnia, this strain produces a soothing mental and body high, ideal for helping users fall asleep. It features a moderate THC content ranging from 18% to 22% and a CBD content of less than 1%.
Erez
Erez is an indica strain featuring between 20% and 24% THC and less than 1% CBD. It produces a powerful body high that can help alleviate pain, including symptoms of IBD and Crohn’s disease. Some people also find it an effective strain for easing post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) symptoms.
Midnight
Midnight is a 1:1 THC to CBD hybrid strain that’s both calming and euphoric. The ratio of THC to CBD produces a gentle high that’s ideal for managing symptoms of anxiety and boosting focus. The mild high also doesn’t come on too quickly. Midnight features THC and CBD contents between 12% and 14%.

Or is the most potent Tikun Olam strain. Its higher THC content (22% to 26%) makes it an ideal strain for helping higher-tolerance users relax without triggering the couch-lock effect that often occurs with high THC cannabis plants. It can also make users feel hungry.
Tikun Olam’s Research
With a focus on education and providing high-quality, effective products for medical cannabis patients, Tikun Olam has been busy. For over a decade, the organization has conducted a substantial amount of original research. It’s also published over 20 peer-reviewed white papers.
In one study, Tikun looked at the effectiveness of CBD-rich cannabis (Avidekel and other CBD-rich cannabis oil) for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and severe behavioral problems. The study found a significant improvement in behavior, communication, and anxiety after at least three months of treatment. On top of that, a third of the participants were able to reduce their medications, while a quarter stopped taking medications altogether.
Another study looked at 21 people with Crohn’s who didn’t respond to conventional treatments such as steroids or immune-modulators. Eleven were in the cannabis treatment group, while the other ten were in the placebo group. Those in the cannabis treatment group received the Erez strain. Researchers found 90% of those in the treatment group experienced significant improvement in their symptoms, while 45% experienced complete remission. Three of the participants in the cannabis group were also able to wean off of steroid dependency.
Tikun Olam also conducted a study investigating the safety and effectiveness of medical cannabis for fibromyalgia, a disorder characterized by musculoskeletal pain accompanied by sleep, mood, and memory issues. The 367 participants had received traditional treatments for at least a year without any improvement in their symptoms. They then received treatment with cannabis, and 211 completed the six-month follow-up survey.
Just over 80% of the participants reported experiencing at least moderate improvement in their fibromyalgia symptoms. Nearly three-quarters reported improved sleep, with 13% saying their sleep issues had disappeared. Cannabis reduced their overall pain intensity, too.
These are just a handful of the original studies conducted by Tikun Olam. Over the years, they’ve also looked into medical cannabis for treating opioid addiction, pediatric complex motor disorders, Parkinson’s disease, and more.
